Three days between ordering and informing: IAW starts for 27th time

13.02.2018

The Cologne exhibition halls 11.1 and 11.2 will be the home of the 27th International Trade Fair for Retail Promotions and Imports (IAW), which will make Cologne the retail hotspot again between 27 February and 1 March 2018. Over 9,000 professional visitors from around the world are expected, who will have the opportunity to prepare for the coming season when it comes to retail promotions, impulse items and bulk goods. “Both halls are fully booked. Around 350 international exhibitors on approximately 30,000 square metres of exhibition space – those are figures that make the IAW strong. Additionally, I am pleased to say that we have grown in terms of quality, both with regard to the range of goods and with regard to the supporting programme.“ says trade fair organiser Kerstin Manke.

At the fair, producers, importers and suppliers meet buyers for retail, wholesale and online retail. The IAW offers a very comprehensive portfolio of retail segments: gift items, seasonal and trend products, chemist products, food, textiles, toys, private labels and many more. In every area, professional visitors will find what they are looking for for their branches and online shops – and often at very reasonable prices. Prizes are also issued at the IAW Trendseller Product Award, a much esteemed award ceremony for the most promising products of the fair.

An important component for the continuous development of the International Trade Fair for Retail Promotions and Imports is the exciting first-time exhibitors who attend each IAW. This time, a few first-time exhibitors from the field of e-commerce have registered, a topic that the E-Commerce-Arena of restposten.de / GKS Handelssysteme GmbH is also devoted to. Along with the IAW Trendforum, the two platforms constitute the venues for the high-quality supporting programme of the IAW. Top speakers will again hold presentations at this springtime fair, on the topics of e-commerce and marketing. Among others, giants such as Markus Fost, Ronny Marx and Adrian Hotz will speak on the topic of Amazon and Amazon SEO, while Michael Groß will give a presentation about eBay SEO. Lawyer Dr. Thomas Engels will have information available on competition law and zentrada Germany manager Martina Schimmel will host a series of presentations about success concepts for stationary retail. In addition, on the first day of the fair, e-commerce experts Marina Eiling, Michael Atug and Ivan Bremers will be in the zentrada lounge and will be available for personal conversations on the topics of marketplaces, online retail and legal specifications. Whereas elsewhere the exclusive insights and presentations can mostly be heard only at cost-incurring conferences, visitors to the IAW can attend all the events for free. All the information about this as well as the complete presentation programme can be viewed at www.iaw-messe.de/trendforum_de.aspx.

“With a few weeks to go until it opens, the spring edition of the International Trade Fair for Retail Promotions and Imports is well prepared and ready to welcome its visitors. We look forward to an exciting 27th IAW, which is sure to be profitable for all parties,” summarises Kerstin Manke.
Interested professional visitors can register at www.iaw-messe.de and order entry tickets for free.
