15th IAW off to an excellent start: SnapTheMusic software from Four Star AG winner of prestigious Trendseller Product Award

Even the organizers of the 15th International Trade Fair for Promotional Products (IAW) had not expected to see Ailton, international football star and contestant in the German TV program “I’m a Celebrity… Get me out of here”. He was surrounded by dozens of trade show visitors at the stand of Yücel Trading in conjunction with the launch of the energy drink Kugelblitz. Other exhibitors also rose to the occasion, coming up with some dramatic and effective ways of attracting an audience to their stands for the anniversary event.

But the highlight of the program on the opening day was undoubtedly the presentation of the prestigious Trendseller Product Awards. Numerous exhibitors had entered their products in the competition, which ranks as one of the most significant of its kind. However, the “crown” went to the company Four Star AG from Liechtenstein. Their SnapTheMusic software program makes it possible to legally download songs from various Internet radio stations to an mp3 player. “A great product that gives everyone access to affordable music”, was the verdict of the competition panel of expert judges.

Second place in the competition went to Bahama Warenvertriebs GmbH (Berlin) for a three-part luggage set. The appeal of this product was the integrated digital scale in the handle of two of the larger cases. This is a highly practical, innovative and timely solution in view of the limitations on luggage and increasing excess luggage charges imposed by airlines.

The company Hannebohm (Lengerich) also attracted the judges’ attention with a flexible fencing system developed to fulfil new EU legislation requirements on fencing around pools and ponds. The fence components can be erected without the use of concrete or tools to form a decorative and safe alternative to conventional fencing. Peter Hannebohm received third prize for this promising product.

Fourth place went to a Finnish company on its first appearance at the IAW. The company, Tammer Tukku, entered ToolsGrip in the competition. ToolsGrip, a patented solution designed to improve job safety and simplify working with tools, allows different hand tools to be put away safely and securely – usually fastened to a pocket or belt. Its ingenious design ensures that screwdrivers, pliers, etc. will not fall out even when working in difficult positions.

Winning the prize was a big honour for all of the winners, but the Award also ensures real benefits in terms of image and, as has been seen repeatedly in the past, guarantees market success. Over the past few years winning a Trendseller prize has had a proven effect on sales performance.

The IAW is the leading European trade fair for promotional products, trend-led and seasonal products, as well as competitively priced and bargain products. The trade show takes place every six months and the event in March 2012 was again fully booked by a total of 285 exhibitors. The event, which closes on 22 March, provides exhibitors and buyers alike with insights into marketplace trends and offers, and also affords an excellent opportunity to place orders and conclude deals.
