Experienced retailers know that everyday product ranges and run-of-the-mill merchandise will not promote their business. Success lies in original ideas, and these can be found in abundance at the IAW – International Trade Fair for Promotional Products. Taking place for the eleventh time, the next IAW will run from 16-18 March 2010 in Halls 4.1 + 4.2 at the Cologne exhibition grounds. It promises even greater variety than in the past, not least because the organizers are offering special incentives, including an introductory package to attract more exhibitors from outside the host nation, Germany.

The most important trade fair for orders of promotional and trend-led products in Germany serves as a central showcase for the retail sector. Over 200 manufacturers and importers from 30 countries will be presenting the latest highlights from their product ranges on a total display area of 24,000 m². Admission is reserved exclusively for trade visitors who welcome this unique opportunity to view complete product ranges and directly order the products they require for their next promotion campaigns. Not surprisingly, more than 6,000 visitors come to see the diverse array of products for the coming season to test new product ranges and be inspired by the new trend-leaders.

Apart from the exhibition, attendees have much to gain from the IAW Trend Forum, which provides all the information needed to identify retail and market trends. One of the highlights of the Forum is the presentation of the IAW ‚Trendseller‘ Product Award – often referred to as the Oscar of the retail trade – which is awarded twice a year
to trend-setting products expected to become the season’s best-sellers.

The new introductory offer to exhibitors is expected to generate even more international flair. First-time foreign exhibitors will benefit from a new incentive. For the normal price of the stand area they receive a complete modular stand, including assembly, furniture/fittings and lighting. These newcomers simply have to set up their products and get ready for business. They will receive the additional backing of a wide-reaching advertising and PR package – this too is part of the new package for exhibitors.

Every exhibitor who books a stand by 20 January 2010 is eligible for the early bird discount, which means a 10% reduction on the basic stand rental. The same discount now also applies to the stand assembly service provided by our partner Verkerk Standbouw und Loewe Messebau. Exhibitors who book stands with a minimum area of 30 m² will enjoy another new benefit, namely free use of the online showroom provided by the zentrada.network website. Companies can present up to 75 products (plus details of the respective prices) for a period of up to four weeks commencing with their trade fair registration. Thanks to this service IAW exhibitors are linked to the leading buyers and trading network with more than 130,000 potential clients in Europe.

The IAW offers a unique and diverse range of free services, including free refreshments and snacks at the exhibition grounds, cheaper rail tickets and hotel accommodation, as well as – not least – high-impact advertising and marketing services. Trade visitors can apply online for free admission tickets by logging on to http://www.iaw-messe.de/.
